Come Lets Believe Together : A prayer for the oppressed

  • Woodbury Lane Clubhouse 100 Simplicity Irvine, California 92620 (map)

It's been a week that has left our hearts heavy and pained. In light of the tragic events that are happening in Aleppo, Myanmar, and other parts of the world, the gathering this week will focus on connecting our hearts in prayer and support for all of the oppressed. We will be reciting a beautiful historical Dua together called Dua al-Nasiri. It has been said about it, "This highly potent du’a by the renowned Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Nasir, was recited across Morocco and inspired resistance to the French occupation. So powerful was it that the French President had to issue an order banning its recitation from the mosques. Moroccans date the movement to return King Muhammad from that outlawing of the du’a. It is appropriate to the present state of the Muslim ummah today." It can be found here for those who would like to practice it:

Supervised children who can sit quietly and/or participate in the program are very welcome. Due to space constraints baby-sitting is not available this time. We are working to adjust for that in the new year insha Allah. Seating is also limited. As there will not be enough chairs for everyone at this location, please do bring a prayer rug for each person in your company for floor seating. Light refreshments will also be served. Looking forward to healing and helping together in your company with Divine remembrance, and connected hearts.
